Toyota has introduced the bZ4X Touring, the newest addition to its battery-electric vehicle (BEV) line-up. Set to arrive in Australian showrooms in the first half of 2026, the bZ4X Touring combines family-friendly practicality with performance, offering a powerful 280kW all-wheel-drive powertrain- which makes it the brands most powerful SUV ever. This new model builds on the foundation of the bZ4X SUV, which is scheduled for significant upgrades in late 2025.
The bZ4X Touring adds an extra 140mm of length behind the rear axle and features a more upright tailgate, resulting in approximately 30 per cent more luggage space than its sibling.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sean Hanley highlighted the vehicle’s ability to meet customer expectations, citing its increased storage and enhanced performance as key factors that will resonate with buyers seeking a capable and eco-conscious SUV.
Under the bonnet, the bZ4X Touring is powered by a 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery with a pre-conditioning feature that enables faster charging even in colder climates, aiming for a 30-minute rapid charge time. This battery is shared with the upgraded bZ4X, offering extended range and peace of mind for long journeys. The Touring variant will be offered exclusively in flagship AWD trim, positioning it as Toyota’s most powerful SUV to date. Expect more details on the bZ4X Touring’s Australian specifications as the launch approaches.
