Nissan Unveils the All-New Patrol NISMO for the Middle East

495 hp twin-turbo V6, motorsport-tuned chassis and aggressive aero but no news on Australian release

Nissan has pulled the covers off its most potent Patrol yet, introducing the all-new Patrol NISMO at a high-profile launch in the Middle East on 25 June 2025. Developed from the ground up using feedback gathered from Patrol enthusiasts across the Gulf, the flagship SUV blends the nameplate’s legendary desert-tested toughness with NISMO’s track-honed engineering to create a vehicle aimed squarely at drivers who demand super-car thrills without surrendering full-size SUV practicality.

A powertrain tuned for the Gulf

Centre-stage is a hand-assembled VR35DDTT 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 that delivers a region-exclusive 495 hp and 700 Nm of torque when Sport Mode is engaged—the highest output for this engine anywhere in the world. Built at Nissan’s Iwaki plant and wearing a crimson engine cover and numbered build plate, the unit feeds a recalibrated nine-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel paddles. A redesigned front bumper funnels cool air to the brakes, trimming disc temperatures by six per cent during sustained hard use, while layered rear diffusers and a lengthened spoiler sharpen high-speed stability.

Chassis, wheels and exhaust with real motorsport DNA

The Patrol NISMO’s ride and handling package has been overhauled by a Nissan motorsports skunkworks team. New NISMO-tuned adaptive E-Dampers continuously vary damping force to keep the 2.7-tonne SUV poised over undulating highways and through mountain switchbacks. Electronic power steering mapping is unique to the model, lightening effort when parking but firming progressively as speeds rise.

Under each wheelarch sits a forged 22-inch RAYS alloy—23 per cent lighter than the standard Patrol rim—shod with performance rubber for greater lateral grip. A freer-flowing exhaust and Active Sound Enhancement amplify the twin-turbo V6’s note, ensuring the aural fireworks match the mechanical ones.

Aerodynamic aggression meets NISMO signature styling

Externally, the super-SUV wears a re-imagined V-Motion grille with a 3D honeycomb mesh to maximise cooling, flanked by bumper air curtains that create vortices to cut lift. At the rear, air splitters, diffusers and the extended spoiler all work to generate downforce—rare territory for an off-roader. NISMO red highlights trace the “Layered Double Wing” motif and frame a Formula E-inspired fog lamp.

Buyers can choose from five monochrome paints—White Pearl, Gray Metallic, Blue Metallic, Black Pearl and NISMO-exclusive Stealth Gray—or mix any of them with a contrasting black roof for a total of six two-tone options.

A cockpit tailored for spirited drives

Inside, the Patrol NISMO swaps the regular model’s luxury veneer for a black-and-red motorsport aesthetic. Suede-touch dash and door inserts, genuine leather bolsters, carbon-look trim and red contrast stitching set the tone; red seatbelts, a crimson start button and embroidered NISMO logos reinforce the intent. Deeply bolstered front seats feature honeycomb quilting that echoes the grille pattern, holding occupants firmly during high-G manoeuvres, while aluminium pedals add a purposeful flourish beneath the driver’s feet.

Built for the region – and for Nissan’s Re:Nissan plan

Thierry Sabbagh, Nissan’s Divisional Vice President for the Middle East, KSA, CIS and INFINITI, says the project embodies the Re:Nissan transformation strategy: “With its race-inspired styling and 495-horsepower engine, the all-new Patrol NISMO delivers the exhilaration of a sports car while preserving the commanding presence of an SUV.” Extensive hot-weather and off-road testing across the Gulf mean the newcomer arrives ready for desert dunes as well as high-speed tarmac.

When it reaches showrooms in July 2025, the Patrol NISMO will sit alongside the classic Patrol and the off-road-oriented Patrol PRO-4X, giving Nissan a three-model spread in one of its strongest SUV markets. For Middle Eastern customers who crave unfiltered performance but refuse to give up the ability to seat seven and haul gear deep into the desert, the Patrol NISMO stands poised to become the new benchmark.
