Ford Australia has officially pulled the covers off its most capable Ranger yet, unveiling pricing and specifications for the all-new Ranger Super Duty Cab-Chassis range. Starting from $82,990 Manufacturer’s List Price (MLP), the Ranger Super Duty has been purpose-built for demanding industries and extreme recreational use, setting new class benchmarks in payload, towing, and off-road capability.

The Super Duty line-up includes Single, Super, and Double Cab-Chassis configurations, all engineered from the ground up to offer unmatched utility, durability, and advanced features for serious operators in fields such as construction, mining, agriculture, and emergency services.

Ford isn’t mincing words about the Super Duty’s ambitions. With a maximum braked towing capacity of 4,500kg, Gross Combined Mass (GCM) of 8,000kg, and Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 4,500kg, this is a truck engineered to outperform everything else in the mid-size segment.

Payload ratings are equally impressive:

  • Single Cab-Chassis: up to 1,982kg
  • Super Cab-Chassis: up to 1,896kg
  • Double Cab-Chassis: up to 1,825kg

These figures are backed by reinforced underpinnings, including a front axle rated at 1,900kg and a rear axle rated at 2,800kg — significantly higher than standard Ranger variants.

“Customers have told us they need a truck that can not only go anywhere, but also haul and tow like nothing else in its class,” said Andrew Birkic, President and CEO of Ford Australia. “The Ranger Super Duty delivers on that — it’s built to work, built to last, and built to lead.”

Under the bonnet, the Super Duty retains Ford’s 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel, but with a dedicated heavy-duty calibration to meet stringent EUVI emissions standards. Crucially, the AdBlue-equipped setup does not compromise output — drivers still get 154kW at 3,250rpm and a formidable 600Nm of torque from just 1,750rpm, ensuring the Super Duty remains capable across all payload and towing scenarios.

To cope with the demands of extreme use, Ford has fitted an upgraded cooling system that is 25% more efficient than current Ranger models, supporting consistent performance even at maximum load.

While the Super Duty’s work credentials are front and centre, its off-road chops are equally formidable. The chassis rides high with up to 299mm of ground clearance, a 1,710mm track width, and a class-leading 850mm water wading depth. Other factory-fitted enhancements include:

  • Front and rear locking differentials
  • Heavy-duty suspension and axles
  • On-board payload scales
  • Sealed raised air intake (snorkel)
  • Integrated accessory mounting points in the cabin

The 2025 Ford Ranger Super Duty Cab-Chassis range is available to order now, with prices starting from $82,990 MLP. While detailed option packages and upfit solutions are expected to follow, even base configurations arrive heavily equipped to handle commercial-grade demands.
